Because some of the people in this post are very famous, or maybe just naturally low-key, I’m using aliases for them.
Yesterday and today were both packed, so let me start with yesterday~ I still feel like I’m dreaming. The mysterious K turned out to be my senior? And he was taught by the same professor, too. He came with me to Guanghua Market. On Saturday, my classmates went to Guanghua Market to buy things, because my middle school classmates wanted to buy an iPod Touch and a camera. Originally, it was just me and two middle school classmates going… but then, while chatting with Mysterious K, I found out he was my senior, so I dragged him along too XD
I’d been to Guanghua Market many times before, but I only ever wandered around and never looked carefully. This time, since my classmates wanted to buy things, we carefully asked the price at every shop, one by one. My legs were exhausted afterward, but it also made me realize something: Guanghua Market’s prices are already much cheaper than retail channels, but if you look around carefully, you’ll find the price gaps within the market are still very big.
Example (hypothetical):
- Regular retail price: NT$10,000
- Highest price at Guanghua Market: NT$9,000
- Lowest price at Guanghua Market: NT$7,000
I went to Guanghua to buy earphones. I had prepared NT$800, thinking I could afford whatever I found. But Mysterious K said earphones cost only NT$49… (You read that right, really NT$49.) He bought a pair and tested them, and he said the sound quality was pretty good, too. Especially at NT$49, even if you accidentally lose them or break them, you won’t feel bad about it^^
After we finished at Guanghua Market, my classmate, my senior, and I went back to school to find our professor. My senior hadn’t seen the professor in four years. The professor had originally said he had a meeting, and that we should come by after it was over. But it seems he forgot we were coming… When we reached the school gate, we called him, and he said he had left school not long before (less than a minute ago). Luckily, he hadn’t driven very far, so he could turn back. Otherwise, my senior might not have gotten to see him (Actually… my senior doesn’t seem to mind…)
Next up, today (Sunday) is the moderators’ dinner for our Hack-Stuff forum, held at a maid café in Ximending… Just saying “maid café” makes me cringe. A bunch of guys going to a weird place like that for dinner, it sounds like they have some shady intentions (Misunderstanding!). We had originally planned to arrive at 3 PM. I was about to leave at around 1:40, but I was sweaty, so I took a shower first. After showering, I realized there wasn’t enough time (it was 2:20), so I rushed to Ximending by bus and MRT. In the end, it still took me 10 minutes to find the place. Meanwhile, Mysterious I rushed out and took the wrong direction, so he was 10 minutes late…
After we got to the maid café, we introduced ourselves as usual. All I can say is… we got through it with the usual bluffing. The organizer, Low-Key Old A, said he’d introduce his specialties. Then I gave a totally bluffing answer, though it was also true: “I’ve touched everything, but mastered nothing…” The others seemed to say something similar. I didn’t listen closely, though, because those of us around the same age (me, Mysterious I, and ms) were already chatting in a group off to the side, so we totally missed what everyone else was saying in all seriousness xD
I’d planned to take photos there, but just as I raised my camera and pressed the shutter… dumbfounded. The camera was out of battery = =, what a shame. Otherwise, everyone could have gotten a glimpse of the mysterious figures :D. Later, Mysterious N said he’d take pictures with his phone, but Low-Key Old A said that if we took photos, we’d have to pay the photo fee ourselves @@. Hmm… better not take photos randomly ^-^
After dinner we kept chatting~ Then we walked around Ximending for a bit. It was my first time in Ximending, and there were so many people. The weather was pretty decent, too, since a cool breeze blew through and it wasn’t too hot. Besides the crowds, Ximending also had lots of pretty girls. Later, Mysterious I.ms, Little Lai, and I went to an internet café to play Nobunaga’s Ambition. The only way to describe it is “a total rout.” The others were already level 13, while I was still at level 7. Every time I charged out, I got instantly wiped out (cry). Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and started using my old trick~ I opened ME to edit my experience points~ But I forgot that on a LAN, Nobunaga’s Ambition can’t have its memory edited directly with ME. I’d changed my experience to 20,000 and raised my level to 25, but I got kicked out of the game room after just one second of happiness = =
I had a great time both days, and I got to meet a bunch of really mysterious people from the forum. It’s a pity Cang Hai was still busy with his second basic exam. Otherwise, I’m sure he’d have loved to see these people too~ After the exam, I’ll think about holding a forum meetup and see if I can track them down ^^
