Before I knew it, a whole year had gone by. The virtual hosting I was using from server zoo was also about to expire. During this period I had a slightly bad impression of server zoo. At one point they said something about a system problem or whatever, and that files might be corrupted (luckily mine were fine XD). I was really annoyed back then. But they later made up for it with compensation, so it was fine, and my data didn’t disappear^^

A year had passed, and it was time to switch to a new host. I had been weighing whether to stay with server zoo’s US host or move to a Taiwan host, since there’s a difference in speed. In the end I decided on a Taiwan host and looked at quite a few options. I found my website’s traffic demands were too high, and there were almost no Taiwan hosts my budget could support. At one point I thought about just staying with server zoo, which would save money and hassle. Luckily, I then came across an ad for Bumeng: 35G of traffic for only NT$4000 a year. It’s much more expensive than my previous host, but for a Taiwan host, it’s cheap~ This NT$4000 plan also includes one international domain, so I took the chance to switch from linroex.twbbs.org to coder.tw~ I wonder if you’ve noticed that the site has become super fast XD

Traffic is probably going to drop sharply for quite a while… It’s just a necessary stage. The domain I used before was a free one from TWBBS.ORG. I can’t deny that twbbs.org was a very convenient domain, but it’s not very reassuring to keep your domain name in someone else’s hands, so I decided to switch to my own address. It’s like the short-term heartache after a breakup: it hurts, but the pain fades. Hmm… I think so, at least. I just hope my traffic doesn’t go into a permanent slump (crying)

Also, my mom has finally made up her mind to switch to wireless internet :D, and now she can use her iPod Touch to get online at home, which is really convenient. I wonder whether the NT$850 I paid for a wireless router was overpriced… I’m sure it wasn’t~ Also, when I went to Guanghua Market to buy the wireless router that day, I also bought the game Supreme Commander on a whim. I’d read about it online and it sounded fun. I originally wanted to download it, but the download links were basically half-dead… either expired, or the speed was painfully slow. So I just went and bought it ^-^

Supreme Commander is a strategy game, but its gameplay is quite different from typical strategy games (such as the classic “Age of” series). People who play it for the first time often find it awkward, but after playing for a while, you get hooked. ▼Shield

Also, several people left comments these past few days while the blog was moving, and I’m sorry: because I switched databases, your comments didn’t come over with the move 0.0 I’m really sorry. I had also planned to write a tutorial during these days, but it got delayed….. Tomorrow I have to go along to accompany someone for the second-round exam.
