Have you seen TRON: Legacy? You’ll remember the scene where the main character enters the virtual world and gets thrown into an arena battle. Recently my younger brother introduced me to an iOS app called LightBike 2. It’s available for both iPhone and iPad, and you can play online~ It’s technically a racing game, but its gameplay is very fresh and almost identical to the movie. In LightBike, the bike you’re riding leaves a light wall behind it on the ground. If an opponent crashes into a light wall, they’re out. LightBike has two modes: one where the first player to win three rounds wins, and another where you get three lives and whoever keeps their lives the longest wins.

[iOS App] SyncSpace: A Handy Synced Whiteboard and Handwritten Note App

Several years ago, I remember reading in a magazine about so-called “distance learning,” which uses information technology so that students can take classes without going to school. SyncSpace, the app I’m introducing today, is quite similar to distance learning. It’s an app made exclusively for iPad, and its main function is a synced whiteboard! Over the internet, it lets many iPads sync with each other. For example, if you write an A on your screen, other users who have joined the same whiteboard will see an A appear on their iPads. This can be used in many places, such as the distance learning I just mentioned. Or, say you’re a business owner who suddenly comes up with an idea while on a business trip. You can use SyncSpace to jot it down right away, then sync it back to the office.

[App Store] Opera Mini for iPhone / iPod Touch: Review & Tutorial

As everyone knows, Apple is famously ruthless with its rivals, and the latest news makes that clear. For example, none of Apple’s products support Adobe’s Flash. The reason given is that Flash eats up resources and has lots of security holes. But some people tested other smartphones with the same specs as the iPhone and found they didn’t use as many resources as Apple claimed. Meanwhile, Adobe added a Package for iPhone to its new Creative Suite 5, which lets users convert Flash files into a format that works on the iPhone / iPod Touch. Apple immediately changed the rules in the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement to ban the use of the Package for iPhone technology. It’s a clear sign that Apple doesn’t welcome Flash. But what does this have to do with Opera Mini?
